Wreaths Across America This holiday season, we have chosen to support an organization very near and dear to our heart – Wreaths Across America. For those who have lost someone close to them who has served in our U.S. military, WAA makes it their mission to “Remember, Honor and Teach” so that the memory of our loved ones will live on for generations to come. Each year, on National Wreaths Across America Day, volunteers participate in wreath laying ceremonies all across the country to help place donated wreaths on the gravestones of our military veterans. This year, GCI has made a generous donation to Wreaths Across America - specifically to the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, helping them to surpass their goal of 9,500 wreaths for National Wreaths Across America Day, which will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16th. If you haven’t heard of Wreaths Across America, they began as a grass-roots effort to remember our veterans who we have lost. All year, not just during the holiday season, they continue their efforts to follow their mission through a number of memorials, ceremonies and school visits with veterans. There is so much more to this organization than we can express here, so we encourage you to learn more about them. Click here to read more about their mission. It’s not too late to sign up to volunteer at one of the over 1,200 locations for National Wreaths Across America Day. If you’re interested, you can find a participating location near you and sign up!
